AABC wants to  start an Elite Qualifing League, with the winner recieving a bid for the Best of the west Championship.  Ben is looking into a combination weekend series.  Looking for 6 teams for each age group.

Hot Streak: 10U Grinders Have Won Six of Eight Tournaments

(October 2, 2011) Peoria, Ariz.–Mitchell TiedemannDawson Davis and Javier Gutierrez pitched against the Goodyear Gators in a 13-8 win on Sunday in Peoria at Rio Vista Park. And everyone hit as the 10U Arizona Grinders jumped out to a 9-0 first-inning lead and won its second consecutive tournament, this time the 2011 USSSA Fall State Championship in the Major division.

The Grinders beat the Scottsdale HEAT 15-6 in the first pool play game, and tied the Gators 10-10 in the second to earn a No. 1 seed entering Sunday’s playoff round. In that game C.J. Glenn hit a Grand Slam to rally the Grinders, who trailed most of the game. In a 7-5 semifinal win against the AZ XTREME, the Grinders were down 4-3, but rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fifth to set up a rematch with the Gators.

Dating back to early 2011, the squad has won six out of its last eight USSSA tournaments and its last four in a row. The win was the 12th for the Grinders as an organization.

AZ Titans In San Diego

The AZ Titans are in San Diego this weekend taking on the big boys in the Extreme Diamond Sports 12u AA division. In Saturdays action the Titans finished the day at 1-1. An early loss to the Southbay Scrappers 16-12 motivated the Titans to. 9-2 win over the San Diego Hooks White later in the day. On Sunday they faced the San Diego Gamers Green and played them to a 7-7 tie.  Needing a win in the second game to advance to pool play the Titans came up a little short to a good Southbay Scrappers team 14-4.  Overall it was a good weekend for the Titans as they finished 1-2-1 on the weekend.

Triple Crown Saturday Highlights

12U

In the 12U division in the cool pines of Flagstaff it is the home town Thunder that is making some noise. The Thunder posted a 2-0 mark with wins over the Kingman Krush by a score of 9-5. They then took care of a scrappy 11u Dirtbags team by a score of 8-6. The AZ Dash 11U then outlasted the Krush by a final of 11-10. In the final game of the day it was the Dirtbags 11u beating the AZ Dash 11's by a count of 8-7!  One more pool play game for each team today before seeding begins!

13U

In the 13u division it was more of the same as again the hometown team Flagstaff Baseball Club first pounced on the Predators Red 13-1 and then took are of the AZ Attack Gold by a final score of 19-7!  Two other teams came in at 2-0 on the ay as both the AZ Blaze and the Predators Black both took care of their side of the pool by going 2-0.

The brackets are set, in the D1 Playoffs it will be the Crush VS AZ T-Rex with the winner getting a date with the Predator USA Black while the other side of the bracket has The AZ Blaze pitted up agains the Flagstaff Baseball Club. 

In the D2 bracket it will be the Predators Red VS the Attack Gold with the winner facing the Octane.  Lasorda University will face the High Desert Wolves on the other side.

USSSA Saturday Highlights

USSSA Highlights from Saturday

9U Highlights

The USSSA Labor Day Kick Off began play today in the 9 u division. Four teams Entered this one including the Desert Cats, Desert Dogs, Rattlers, and Spartans.

The Desert Cats finished the day ahead of the pack with two straight wins, although both were just one run games. In game one they outlasted the Rattlers by a score of 12-11. In game two it did not get any easier as they beat the Desert Dogs by a score of 8-7. In other action the rattlers beat up on the Spartans 15-7.   The Spartans came right back though as the battled the Desert Dogs to an 11-11 tie!  Pool play will conclude tomorrow as the Desert Cats will put their 2-0 record on the line against the Spartans while the Desert Dogs will square off against the Rattlers. The playoffs will begin tomorrow at the conclusion of pool play with the  Championship game taking place on Monday! Stay tuned to TBS Arizona for all of the details. 10U Open Highlights (USSSA Labor Day Kick Off)

In the 10U division the Stetson Hills Stealth are ahead of the pack right now as they finished he day with a 2-0 mark. In two games the Stealth outscored their opponents 27-0. The Anthem Firebirds are trying to keep pace as they also won both while outscoring their opponents 24-6! In other early action the BBC Commanders, Dirty Dozen, and Snipers Black all finished day one with a 1-1 mark. In the afternoon
games it was the Sandlot and the Grizzlies who looked like the teams to beat.  The Sandlot went 2-0 on the day with wins over the Garors and then the Gauchos. The Grizzlies took care of the Extreme by a score of 9-1 and the the Sandlot 9u by a score of 19-3!  The top four teams make it to the upper division playoffs so today is a big day for everyone!

11U AA Division

In 11U AA action the AZ Thunder, Goodyear Gators, and Arizona Diablos are all at 2-0 after day one action.  The Gators have completely dominated their opponents by a combined score of 29-1 while the Thunder have also handled business by scores of 6-4 and then 13-1! The Diablos have had two close ones winning both by scores of 6-4 and 10-7 respectively over first the Arizona A's and then the Desert Cats Red.  The Rawlings lightning are sitting at 1-1 while the A's, and Desert Cats are winless thus far. 

11U AAA Division

The Desert Cats Blue are off to a hot start as they posted a 2-0 mark on the day. The Cats first beat up on the Broncos 11-1 and then followed up that win with a 7-3 victory over the Az Grizzlies. The Grizzlies ended the day at 1-1 as they rebounded from the loss to the Desert Cats by beating the ABP Wizards by a score of 9-1. The Yuma Outlaws ended the day 1-1 as they beat the Tri City Venom who went 0-2 on the day and lost to the Rawlings Lightning.

12U AA Highlights

There are three undefeated teams in this division, the Blackout, Desert Cubs, and the Yuma Outlaws all sit at 2-0. The Outlaws have turned some heads as they have yet to give up a run while scoring 25!  The Grinders, Regulators, and Warriors Red all finished the day at 1-1 while three teams went winless in day one action.

12U Open Highlights

Coach Decker had the Storm Black looking like the dominant team in 12U action today as they posted an impressive 2-0 mark. Their first game was a victory over the Desert Dawgs 13-2. This one was over early as the Storm jumped on the Dawgs with seven runs in the first. In game two, the Storm welcomed the TC Drillers from Colorado to town with a 12-2 drubbing. The Drillers then faced the Warriors Baseball Academy and again were defeated, this time 10-6. The Warriors followed that victory with another over the Desert Cats Blue by a score of 19-6!  The Dawgs bounced back from a tough defeat early to tie the Surprise Thunder Navy 6-6. In the late action it was the Desert Cats Blue over the Surprise Thunder in a slugfest 20-9.

13U Open Highlights!

In the morning 13U division it is the AZ Extreme Gold who are out to the early lead with a 2-0 mark.  The Extreme had two impressive wins today the first over a good Aces Beisol by a score of 7-3 and then they followed that up with a 16-0 drubbing of the Ahwatukee Devils. The Stetson Hills Stealth also took care of business today posting a 2-0 mark with a 9-1 win over the Devils followed by a 8-4 win over the Goodyear Gators. The Aces and Gators each split on the day while the Devils and the Heavy Hitters each went winless in day one action. In the late games it was the Venom and the ABP Wizards that finished the day 2-0.  the Venom took care of the Grinders first by a score of 13-4 and then it was the AZ Extreme Black by a count of 9-1. Peaks Baseball finished the day 0-2 losing to the Storm Black and then the Grinders.

9U Tournament Update – Labor Day Kick Off

The USSSA Labor Day Kick Off began play today in the 9u division. Four teams entered this one including the Desert Cats, Desert Dogs, Rattlers, and Spartans.  The Desert Cats finished the day ahead of the pack with two straight wins, although both were just one run games. In game one they outlasted the Rattlers by a score of 12-11. In game two it did not get any easier as they beat the Desert Dogs by a score of 8-7. In other action the rattlers beat up on the Spartans 15-7.  

The Spartans came right back though as they battled the Desert Dogs to an 11-11 tie!  Pool play concludes tomorrow as the Desert Cats will put their 2-0 record on the line against the Spartans while the Desert Dogs will square off against the Rattlers. The playoffs will begin tomorrow at the conclusion of pool play with the Championship game taking place on Monday! This one looks like it could be anyones for the taking so stay tuned to TBS Arizona for all of the action!

9U Elite 32 Bracket Play – Day 1 Wrap

August 4, 2011 – If you follow elite 9U baseball, then your eyes turn to Kissimee, Florida at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex. This is the site of USSSA’s 2011 Elite 32 World Series. It is turning out to be the best tournament of the year as it is loaded with many of the top teams in the nation.

The records of the top eight teams are shown in the table below. Heading into Thursday’s bracket play rounds, TBS #6 ranked Team Rawlings is still sitting at the top of the list with the best overall record with the Texas Longhorns RBA following closely behind.

The big match-ups to watch today start with TBS#1 TEAM MVP. They had gotten off to a slow start and were surprised by a very good TEAM Rawlings (TBS#8) who blanked them 11-0 in early pool play. Today, MVP will face TBS#9 ranked South Texas Longhorns, while Rawlings will face TBS#13 Georgia Raiders.

In addition, watch today as TBS#3 SGV Hustle (pictured above right)  will be taking on TBS#4 Oklahoma Elite. Both teams are 5-0 thus far in this series.

Other intriguing match-ups today include; TBS #2 SGV Cobras Black versus TBS#6 VSA Vipers. Both the Cobras and Vipers have gotten off to a rough start, but are regaining their momentum. These teams are located within short vicinities of each other – Both have played each other several times this year.

9U National Rankings Upate – 5/4/2011

TravelBallSelect.com updates the 2011 National Rankings of the top 25 teams competing in 9U major class events across the USA.  These Rankings reflect the latest tournament results through April 30th.  These Rankings will be continuously updated as more tournament results are played out.

 

1) The SGV Cobras Black (of San Gabriel/San Fernando Valley area) continues to be a dominant team and holds a firm grip on the #1 spot. They traveled all the way to Texas to win the South Texas Super NIT this past weekend where they beat an outstanding Worth Elite team to take their third Super NIT title of the season. They have now compiled an overall record of 44-10-1 in USSSA play. The Cobras have won 6 of their 10 USSSA appearances including 3 Super NIT titles.

 

2) The VSA Vipers (Chatsworth, CA-S) played up and won the 10U AA Annual Bat Wars tournament this past weekend. This is good enough to tighten their grip on #2. They went 3-0 in April 15-16th Hard Core league play. They have been a dominate team in an area of the country that is filled with outstanding teams. The Vipers have compiled an overall 33-3 record thus far (21-1 in USSSA play). They have won 3 of their 4 USSSA tournament appearances including the MLK Super NIT earning them an early ticket to the Elite 32.

 

3) TEAM MVP (Miami, FL) was idle in elite travel circuits again this week. They hold at #3 following their win at the April 6th PPO Bengals April Fools tournament. They currently hold a 34-7 record in USSSA play with 3 of those losses coming from the bats of 10U Majors teams. They have won 6 of their 9 USSSA tournament appearances plus 2 Runner-up finishes. The MVP has already won a berth to the USSSA Elite 32.

  

4) The Tracy Rangers (of Tracy, CA-N) was idle, but moves up from #5 on momentum from prior wins. Their most recent win was at the April 16th “Twin Creeks Spring Challenge”. Their overall season record now stands at 30-4 with all 4 losses coming against 10U teams.  They have won 7 of their 9 USSSA tournament appearances plus 1 Runner-up finish.

 

5) The St. Joe Blast (St. Joseph, MO) moves up from #7 with their most recent win at the KC T-Bone Sizzler where they went 5-0 and beat the Shawnee Titans 6-3 in the title game. They also recently won the April 16th KC Global Sports NIT where they went 4-0 to take that title. This followed their “Runner-Up” finish at the “Royals.com Spring Classic”. They have now compiled a 31-1 record including 7-0 run against 10U teams. They have won 7 of their 8 USSSA tournament appearances this season plus 1 “Runner-Up” finish.

 

6) The Storm (of the Mississippi Gulf Coast area) moves up from #8 after going 5-0 to win the Coast Classic this past weekend. Recently, they played up in the 10U April 16th “Blasting in the Burg” where they finished “Runner-Up”. That performance followed their win at the April 8th Slugfest. Their record now sets at 29-5 with 3 of 4 loses coming against 10U bats.   They have won 6 of their 8 tournament appearances plus 1 “Runner-Up” finish.

 

7) The Carolina Mustangs (Winston Salem, NC) makes a big jump from #11. This past weekend, they went 5-0 in route to winning the East Tennessee Super NIT. This marked their second consecutive Super NIT win in as many tries - fresh off their win at the April 16th NC Super NIT. They are a late starter that has already compiled a 28-6 record with 5 of their 6 losses coming against 10U teams. They have won 5 tournaments with 1 “Runner-Up” finish.

 

8-Tie) The SGV Hustle (San Gabriel Valley area, CA-S) moves from #6 after prolonged absence from elite travel play. Their most recent win was the April 3rd 10U USTSA Spring Bash. Thus far this season, the Hustle has compiled a 12-3 record in USSSA while winning 2 of their 3 tournament appearances including their win at the “So CAL” Thanksgiving Super NIT. They are also 8-1 in USTSA tournaments and have also played in a number of local events. By our best estimate, their overall record now stands at 30-4 including unsanctioned local league play.

 

8-Tie) The Sandlot All-Stars (Tempe, AZ) was idle, but holds at #8. They finished 3rd in the 10U April 22nd Easter Classic where they went 2-1. This team has have played a very active schedule and holds an impressive 48-18 record with 15 of those losses coming against 10U teams. They have won 3 USSSA tournaments and have finished as the Runner-up in 5 others.  Their aggressive schedule coupled with their early achievement of reaching 40+ wins holds their spot in the top 10 rankings.

 

9-Tie) TEAM Rawlings (San Juan Capistrano, CA-S) moves from #4 after a stumble at the Bat Wars this past weekend where they went 1-2 and were eliminated from tournament action after a 5-3 loss to the OC Sun Devils (eventual champions). In their most recent outing, they finished “Runner-Up” at the April 9th 10U Empire Qualifier. They were also strong Runner-ups at the March 25th Arizona Spring Championships. Their record stands at 26-13 with 6 of their 11 loses coming against 10U teams.  They also have 2 tournament wins to go along with 4 “Runner-up” finishes that include some very impressive wins. They are playing like a Top 5 team.

 

9-Tie) Worth Elite (Houston, TX-S) moves up from #12 after their “Runner-Up” finish at the South Texas Super NIT where they lost a very close 12-11 championship game to the #1 ranked SGV Cobras Black. Recently, they finished 3rd at the April 7th DFW Super NIT. That followed their 2nd place finish at the March 25th Twin Cities Super NIT Shootout Super NIT.  They also recently reached the semi-finals playing up in the March 12th 10U Global NIT. By our tally, their overall record stands at 38-8 with 4 of their 6 losses coming against 10U teams.  This includes their 5-0 record in Nations Baseball competition.  They have won 6 of their 11 USSSA tournament appearances, 4 of which were 10U events.

 

9-Tie) The Carolina Stars (Whitmire, SC) was idle but holds at #9. Most recently, the Stars played up in the 10U April 16th Global Sports Spectacular going 2-2. This follows their win at the April 9th “Bling in Spring Qualifier”. They have 3 straight tournament wins with a record of 33-4. They have won 6 of their 9 USSSA tournament appearances plus 2 “Runner-Up” finishes.

 

10-Tie) The Mississippi Mustangs (Desoto County, MS) moves up from #12 after going 3-0 in the rain shortened Spring Swing Global Sports Qualifier this past week. Recently, they had won the April 16th USSSA “Huckleberry” Qualifier going 5-0. They now hold an overall record of 34-7 with 5 of their losses coming against the bats of 10U teams. They have won 6 of their 10 tournament appearances.

 

10-Tie) The East Cobb Longhorns (Marietta, GA) was idle and now holds a share of the #10 spot. Their most recent win was the April 16th Triple Crown “Backyard Brawl”. Recently, they finished as the Runner-up at the March 18th Triple Crown March Mayhem after winning the March 12th Atlanta Blue Jays Invitational.   They remain ranked head-to-head with their cross-town rival - Georgia Raiders. This brings the Longhorns overall record to 22-6, counting their 10U play. Next up, they will play in the May 4-5th Triple Crown Slugfest.

 

11-Tie) The Slammers Black (Denver, Colorado) moves up from #15 after their win at the 10U AAA Jefco Spring Blast this past weekend. They recently won the April 16th USSSA FCBC Spring Classic. That win followed their “Runner-Up” finish in a USSSA 10U Major Tournament, along with a solid 4th place performance at the Arizona Spring Super NIT - a “Who’s Who” event that was loaded with power teams. Thus far, they have won 3 of their 5 USSSA tournaments. Their overall record now stands at 25-3 including an 15-1 record versus 10U teams.

 

11-Tie) Monarchs Baseball Club (Kansas City, MO) moves up from #17 after going 4-0 to win the April 29th Sports America Grand Slam. This marks their 3rd straight tournament win.   They won the April 8th “Royals.com Spring Classic” going 4-0 with a win over the St. Joe Blast who had beaten them earlier this spring season. They hold a 25-1 record that includes an 8-0 stretch against 10U teams. They have also won 4 of their 5 USSSA tournament appearances with a “Runner-Up” finish in the other.

 

12-Tie) The Georgia Raiders (Atlanta) continued to remained idle and drops from last week at #10. In their most recent outing, they went 2-1 and finished 6th in Triple Crown’s April 16th “Back Yard Brawl”. They won the March 18th Atlanta Super NIT. The Raiders have also been playing up in the 10U NWBA league and are 6-1 in that competition.

 

12-Tie) The Georgia Yard Dogs Black (Atlanta, GA) move up from #16 after 2 straight tournament wins including the April 17th NIT Classic and the April 23rd Easter Shootout. With our best tally, their record stands at 26-7-2 overall. They have won 7 of their 8 USSSA tournament appearances. They are 10-2 against 10U teams. 

 

13) Oklahoma Elite (Oklahoma City) played up in the 10U Oklahoma-Texas Shootout and finished 2-1 before rain halted action in that event. But their performance was still good enough to move them up from #18. This comes after going 7-0 to win the April 16th 9U Oklahoma- Texas Shootout. Their season record stands at 24-3 and 7-2 versus 10U teams. They have won 4 of the 5 USSSA tournament appearances.

 

14) The RBI Rangers (Knoxville, TN) holds at #14 after going 3-1 with a 3rd Place finish at the East Tennessee Super NIT this past weekend. They finished as the “Runner-Up” at the April 16th USSSA competition. They have an overall record of 29-8 that includes 2 tournament wins plus 2 impressive Super NIT 2nd Place honors.

 

15) South Texas Longhorn Academy/RBA (McAllen, Texas) continues to slide from their #11 rank last week. They have remained idle since their win at the March 25th Twin Cities Shootout Super NIT. Their overall record holds at 24-6 with 5 of their losses coming against 10U teams. They have won 6 of their 7 USSSA tournament appearances plus finishing as “Runner-Up in the other.

 

16) The Dynasty Jacks (Houston, TX) moves from #10 after finishing 4th at the South Texas Super NIT. They won the April 9th DFW Super NIT after a strong 3rd Place finish going 4-1 at the Twin Cities Super NIT. They currently have an overall record of 46-10-2 with 6 tourney wins when combining their performance in both USSSA and Nations play. Their record against 10U teams stands at 21-3-2.

 

17). The NL Arsenal of EL Paso, Texas jumps into the top 20 this week after winning their 3rd straight tournament including the Survior Series VXI this past weekend. They have compiled a 21-4 record with 3 of their 4 losses coming against 10U teams. They have also won 4 of their 5 USSSA tournament appearances.

 

18) The LA Rip Freshman (Kenner, Louisiana) moves up from #13 after going 1-2 with a 5th Place finish at the St. Tammany’s Classic this past weekend. This slump hits after 4 straight tournament wins. They now have a record of 36-9 to go with 6 tournament wins.

 

19) The Dothan Warriors (Dothan, AL) was idle, but holds at #19. They went 4-0 to win the April 16th Spring Fling III. They also finished “Runner-up” at the April 9th Sandlot Super NIT held in Gulf Shores, Alabama. That followed a good showing at the Atlanta Super NIT where the played then #5 ranked Georgia Raiders a tough 3-0 battle before falling in the quarter final round.   They have won 5 USSSA tournaments and compiled an overall record of 29-6 including a 5-2 record versus 10U teams.

 

20) Sandlot Baseball (Coral Springs, FL-S) moves up from #22 after winning the World War NIT this past weekend beating the Miami Bulldogs 7-2 in the title game. In their prior outing, they finished in 4th place at the April 14th USSSA Spring Slam. Their record stands at 28-11-1 including their win at the March 11th Florida Super NIT.

 

21) The South Florida Piranaz (Lake Worth, FL-S) holds at #21 after going 3-1 at the World War NIT this past weekend. In prior outings, they won the April 14th USSSA “Spring Slam at Tamiami” and finished “Runner-Up” at the April 6th PPO Bengals Invitational were they lost in the finals to #3 ranked TEAM MVP by a score of 9-4. They finished 3rd at the Florida Super NIT where they lost an 11-10 heart breaker to the Super NIT Champions (Sandlot baseball) in the semi-finals.  Their record stands at 34-11. They have 4 tournament wins to go along with 2 “Runner-Up” finishes.

 

22). The Central Florida Wildcats (Orlando, FL-S) moves up from the #24 spot. They won the April 29th Florida State Level 2 District Championship. This follows their April 8th Gold Gloves championship win where they beat the Central Florida Wolverines 10-9. They have a 34-7 record thus far this season and have won 5 of their 10 USSSA tournament appearances with 2 “Runner-Up” finishes.

 

23-Tie) The East Cobb Braves (Marietta, GA) was idle, but holds at #23. In their most recent outing, they went 2-2 at the April 16th Triple Crown Backyard Brawl. This follows going 2-2 with a 5th place finish at the Atlanta Super NIT falling 10-6 against the West Pines Cobras in the quarter finals. Thus far, they have won 5 of their 9 tournament appearances including 2 Triple Crown Championships plus 2 Runner-up finishes.  They currently hold a 31-7 record playing against solid teams from Georgia and surrounding southern states.   They are slated to compete at Triple Crown’s Atlanta Spring Open this weekend.

 

23-Tie) The Central Florida Wolverines (Orlando, FL-S) was idle but holds at #23 after their “Runner-up” at the Gold Glove Classic where they dropped a very close 10-9 loss to the Central Florida Wildcats. They hold an overall record of 42-3-2 while playing in both USSSA and Florida Travel Ball (FTB) leagues.  Thus far in USSSA competition, the Wolverines have compiled an 11-2 record.  They won the Florida Winter State Championship and recently finished as the Runner-up in the “War on the I-4 CF Showdown”.  In FTB, the Wolverines have compiled a 31-1-2 record while winning 5 tournaments.

 

24-Tie) The Southern Stallions (Lexington, SC) holds at #24 after 4 successive “Runner-Up” finishes in April including the April 30th Mayfest Mayhem this past weekend. They now hold a 25-9 record with 3 tournament wins to go along with 5 total “Runner-up” finishes.

 

24-Tie) Stars Baseball (Mandeville, Louisiana) got back to their winning was taking the St. Tammany Classic NIT title this past weekend. Their most recent outing resulted in a 3rd place at the April 10th Gulf Shores Sandlot Super NIT. Their overall record stands at an impressive 53-13-2. In addition, they have won 9 of their 14 USSSA tournament appearances plus finishing Runner-up in another. Another big tournament win could quickly move this team back into the top 20.

 

25) The TX Legends (of the Southeast Texas Area) move from #20 after finishing 10th at the South Texas Super NIT.   This comes after winning the April 10th Sandlot Super NIT held in Gulf Shores, Alabama. They also won the 10U March Mayhem, placed 5th at the Twin Cities Super NIT. Their overall record stands at 29-13 with 3 tournament wins and 2 “Runner-up” finishes. 

 

 

 

HONORABLE MENTION

(These are teams who play is challenging for Top 25 ranking)

 

ALBandits Baseball (Alabaster, Alabama) have compiled a 24-6 record and picking up their game. They won the April 30th Bash this past weekend. If they can follow up with a couple more impressive wins, then look for them in the top 25 as well.

 

AR – The Arkansas Express finished “Runner-Up” at the 10U AA Shred-IT NIT this past weekend. They Overall, their record stands at 32-9-1 with 4 tournament wins and 2 “Runner-Up” finishes. They also finished 3rd at the March 15th Twin Cities Super NIT and have since stepped up their game playing in both 9 and 10U events. Another big win could catapult this team into the top 20.

 

CA/S – The OC Sun Devils (Irvine, CA-S) return to our focus as they won the 5th Annual Bat Wars beating the #5 ranked TEAM Rawlings 5-3 in route to their championship title. The Sun Devils record now stands at 21-7 with 4 USSSA tournament wins.

 

CA/S – The Mid Valley Warriors (Encino, CA-S) returned to action this past weekend finishing “Runner-Up” at the 5th Annual Bat Wars. They are a top 5-10 caliber team had taken a long lay-off in elite travel baseball circles. Their USSSA record now stands at 21-6 with 2 USSSA tournament wins thus far this season. This team has proven their mark and a couple of big wins could propel them back into the top 25.

 

FL - North Florida Diamond Kutters are another late starting team that is looking good. They now hold a 9-1 record while wining 2 of 2 tournaments including the Capital City Slugfest held in Montgomery, Alabama on April 8th.

 

GA – Backyard Boyz (Macon, GA) have gotten our attention with a 22-4 record and having won 2 straight tournaments including the April 30th Convers 10 AA NIT.   They have won 4 of their 6 USSSA tournament appearances.

 

IL – Lincoln Way Prospects (New Lenox, IL) are another late starter from the Northern Region that has now moved into view with 4 straight tournament wins in April. This gets our attention.

 

LA - Legendz Baseball Black (Zachary, Louisiana) enters our view after establishing a 16-4 record and winning 2 of 4 tournaments with 2 “Runner-Up” finishes. This is a team that started late, but is beginning to show potential.

 

OK - The Oklahoma Dirt Dogs are another team that got a late start. They have been playing exceptionally well this spring. Their record stands at 19-3 and finished as the “Runner-Up” at the Oklahoma-Texas Shootout this week. They have won 3 of their 4 USSSA tournament appearances. They would have entered the top 25 this week had they finished higher the 5th at the DFW Super NIT this past weekend. Still, they are playing like a team to watch.

 

TN/E – Crossfire (Hendersonville, TN) are a late starter, but they have now won 3 straight tournaments and have built a 15-0 record along the way. If they sustain this level of performance, they will move into the ranks of top 20 teams.

 

TX/N – The I-35 Elite (Hillsboro, TX-N) is a team that has also recently resumed their season. The won the April 8th “Heros Downtown Showdown” held near Dallas Fort Worth. They have compiled at 16-2 record and have won 2 of their 4 tournament appearances plus 2 “Runner-up” finishes.

TBS 13U National Rankings Update!

1. (1) Lamorinda Monarchs (CA) - Look for them to make another run at a national title as last year’s squad took the NYBC and AAU titles. Currently have a 29-5 record in USSSA games since September.  Is currently 25-12 in 14U tournaments this season with 3 tournament championships out of 8.

 

2. (2) San Diego Show (CA) – Still playing strong ball and will make a run for a title this year. Return nearly every player off of last year’s #2 final ranked squad while adding some key players that look to make huge contributions. Recently 14U USTSA MLK Tournament and went 7-0 to take the Spring Championships Super NIT.

3. (6) Tanel Voodoo (LA) - Tanel looks to add to their success from the 2010 season which saw them finish an impressive 3rd place at the Elite 32 and finish 55-8. They picked up some big name players including Bryce Denton, Connor Caminita, and Blake Helmer this off season. Return TBS All Americans Tyree Thompson, Cory Armstrong, and Matt Muhleisen. Recently won the Twin City Shootout going 6-0 to gain a berth to the Elite.

4. (3) Leon Medical Center (FL) - Leon has been putting up some impressive numbers this past fall and early spring. Won the Fall National Championship and just recently took the Florida Super NIT going 6-0. This team has a powerful offense matched with solid defense. 30-3 record in USSSA since the fall winning multiple tournaments.

5. (5) Banditos Black (TX) - This team was impressive at last year’s NYBC. Look for them to make some noise when the season gets heated up. They have the whole package and return multiple TBS All Americans including Eric Moll, Christian Sanchez, and Jordan Monacy. Have merged with Tanel for USSSA events.

6. (8) Dallas Patriots (TX) - The Patriots have dominated the Dallas region the past couple of years. They return key players including “Youth Player of the Year” Decker Branch and Cody Sturgeon. Climb the rankings after an impressive month of baseball that saw them go 11-1 in Super NIT’s coming in second at the Twin City Shootout and 1st at the DFW Super NIT.

7. (4) Tomateros de California (CA) - The Tomateros look to make another impressive run in the 2011 season and will definitely be contenders come this summer. Finished second at last year’s NYBC. Recently came in third at the MLK Super NIT and Spring Championships Super NIT to drop them a few spots. 

8. (9) Team Rawlings Elite (CA) - Have a solid team that can really hit the ball. Picked up 12U Co- Player of the year Isaak Gutierrez and Players to Watch Dominic Fletcher and David Hamilton.  Finished an impressive 3rd at the President’s Day Super NIT that featured great teams from the West region.

9. (10) MBA Pride (FL) - Played well in the Thanksgiving Super NIT where they finished second. This team has lost some key players but still has the talent to make a run this summer. Currently have a 14-1 record since January adding a championship at the Ultimate Florida Championships II NIT.

10. (7) Detroit Bees (MI) – The Bees came down to the North Carolina Super NIT and played well going 3-1 before falling to a non ranked opponent to drop them a few spots.

11. (14) Bomberz Baseball (CA) – Won the President’s Day Super NIT in California. Got big wins over Nor Cal Baseball, Team Rawlings Elite, and Tabu and recently downed the Lamorinda Monarchs. This team has been under the radar but can really play. Currently is 39-4.

12.  (12) Home Plate Chili Dogs (GA) - Recently won the Atlanta Super NIT to pick up the berth to this year’s Elite 32. Very deep in pitching and can really hit. This team will make a run at this year’s Elite. 

13. (20) Chandler Rangers (AZ) - Post a 27-1 in 2011 and 40-8 in USSSA since the fall. A very well coached team that took the ship at the Winter Nationals Super Nit picking up wins against quality opponents such as the Team Rawlings Elite and Arizona Titans. Came in 2nd at the Spring Championships Super NIT before falling to the #2 San Diego Show.

14.  (19) East Cobb Astros (GA) - Although the Astros did not play so hot at the Atlanta Super NIT, this team is full of talent and has picked up some big additions. They recently qualified for the Elite with a championship at the North Carolina Super NIT picking up quality wins over ranked opponents.

15. (13) Inland Empire 66ers (CA) - Recently won the MLK Super NIT picking up two big wins over the Tomateros de California.  Have defeated Team Rawlings Elite, Tomateros, and So Cal Smash this season. Have taken some losses to non ranked opponents as of late to drop them a few spots.

16. (18) Tampa Crush (FL) - Crush has been playing very well. Posted a 2nd place finish at the Florida Super NIT which may be good enough to get them an Elite 32 berth. Picked up big wins against West Boca Panthers, Team Florida Elite, and Beyel Brothers.  Recently won the Battle on I-4 and the East Cobb Astros Invitational.

17. (15) GBC Team Acceleration (NC) - Look to continue the success they saw in 2010. This team is very talented across the diamond. Currently have a 25-5 record since the fall. Finished 2nd at the Jay Criscoe Super NIT and 3rd at the North Carolina Super NIT before falling to eventual champ East Cobb Astros.

18.  (17) Beyel Brothers (FL) - Finished 2nd at the competitive Atlanta Super Nit that saw the top teams in the southeast and nation and finished 3rd at the Florida Super NIT. Are very talented, look for them to make a run for a title. Recently finished 2nd at the Gulf Shores Super NIT.

 

19. (16) DBat Mustangs Murrell (TX) - A very powerful team that plays in the Rooly League. These guys can play and look for them to make an impact when the season starts getting geared up. .

 

20. (22) Jackhammers Black (LA) - The Jackhammers just finished an impressive 4th place finish at the Twin City Shootout Super NIT in a field of 27. Is currently 29-4 since the fall. These guys can really play look out for them as they play in more big name tournaments.

 

21. (21) So Cal Smash (CA) - Went 4-2 at both the Thanksgiving Super NIT and MLK Super NIT that featured some of the top teams in Cali and the nation. Have got big wins over Inland Empire 66ers and Tomateros de California. Have not played in a lot of big tournaments as of lately dropping them a spot.

 

22.  (NR) Dulins Dodgers (MS) – Are currently 36-1in USSSA events. This team is putting it together and will climb the rankings quickly if they keep playing well. Finished 3rd at the DFW Super NIT before falling to the eventual champs Dallas Patriots in a very close game

 

23. (23) Charlotte Hurricanes (NC) - A very talented team from the South region. Have qualified for the Elite 32 going 5-0 at the Jay Criscoe Super NIT picking up respectful wins over GBC Team Acceleration and New Balance Sidewinders.  Came in 5th at the North Carolina Super  NIT before falling to the ECB Astros.

 

24. (24) Oklahoma Select (OK) - Finished 8th at the Twin City Shootout Super NIT but that finish does not wrap up how well these boys played. Lost to the eventual champ, Voodoo Baseball, 7-4 after going 3-0 and scoring 34 runs while giving up only 14. Recently finished 7th at the DFW Super NIT going 3-1.

25. (NR) NC Diamond Cutters (NC) - The Diamond Cutters have been playing good baseball as of lately. They boast a 19-2 record in USSSA events picking up notable wins over ranked opponents such as East Cobb Astros and Detroit Bees.

10U – National Rankings Update – 5/4/2011

TravelBallSelect.com updates the 2011 Rankings of the Top 25 10U Teams across the USA taking into account the April 30th tournament results. These Rankings are continuously updated as new tournament results play out.

 

1). The Sandlot All-Stars (Tempe, AZ) was idle, but continues to hold on the #1 ranking. In their last outing, they won the USSSA 11U April 16th Spring Fling marking 7 straight USSSA tournament wins including the “Who’s Who” packed Arizona Spring Super NIT held March 27th. Their 2011 season record now stands at an impressive 33-2-1 against quality teams.

 

2) TEAM Miami (Miami, FL) was idle. They continue to hold a firm grip on#2. They won the April 23rd Florida-Georgia Showdown beating the Georgia Yard Dogs Black in the finals. Their overall record holds at 67-13 (by our tally) including their tough local league games against older teams.  All but 2 of their losses have come against 11U and 12U teams.  This win proves the quality and depth of their roster.

 

3) The Nomads Elite (Garden Grove, CA) moves up from #4 after their win at the Triple Crown OC Spring Opener held in Huntington Beach, California this past weekend. This follows their win at the April 16th Oakley Classic. In that event, they beat several of the top teams in the country including the #6 San Diego Show, the San Diego Stars, and the So Cal United. In addition, they beat the powerful Oakley Stingrays (ranked #2 at that time) in finals. Their season record stands at 58-6 with 8 tournament wins that includes a berth to the Elite 32 in Disney.

 

4) The Oakley Stingrays - Green (of Whittier/Norwalk, CA) went 3-1-1 to finish “Runner-Up” at the 5th Annual Bat Wars this past weekend. They battled So CAL United to a 9—9 tie in pool play and later lost 12-3 to the United in their finals rematch. While the Stingrays have suffered some surprising losses in recent weeks, they remain one of the very best teams in the nation. Their overall record now stands at a very remarkable 68-8-1 (58-6-1 versus 10U teams, 10-2 against 11U competition). This week, drop from #3 to hold the #4 slot this week. Don’t count this team out.

 

5) The Georgia Yard Dogs Black (Atlanta, GA) moves up from #6 on momentum from their strong “Runner-Up” finish at the April 24th Florida-Georgia Showdown. They beat both #4 TEAM MVP and #2 ranked TEAM Miami 5-4 in pool play, but ran out of pitching in the finals as TEAM Miami came back to take the best 2 of 3 finals series to win that title. The Yard Dogs also finished “Runner-Up” at the “Clash at the Chuck” losing a tough 9-8 title game against the Covington Sting in that event.

 

6) TEAM MVP (Miami, FL) moves from #5 after taking another tough spill this past weekend at the World War NIT where they went 4-1 before falling to the “up and coming” Boca Bombers by a close 7-6 heart breaking loss in the finals.   This follows their loss at the Georgia-Florida Showdown. They won the April 15th USSSA Tamiami Spring Slam going 4-0 to take that title. They have compiled an impressive overall record of 76-15-1 with 11 total tournament wins including a 65-15-1 record in USSSA 10U Major or 11U tournament appearances.

 

7-Tie) The IE Elite (Inland Empire, CA) were idle this week, but holds at #7. They recently won the March 18th Arizona Triple Crown Spring Championship and have compiled a record of 64-8 this season playing against a schedule that is heavily slanted to 11U competition.  Thus far, 6 of their 8 losses came against 11U's with a loss against the #5 ranked Nomads Elite.  Their 60+ wins are impressive.

 

7-Tie) The Carolina Cubs (Triangle, NC) moves up from #8 after going 5-0 to win the North Carolina Triple Crown Border Wars V. They recently won the April 16th Charlotte Super NIT. In prior outings, they won the “Best of the East” and also finished 2nd playing up with the 11U’s at the April 3rd USSSA Baseball Bash NIT. These followed a solid performance at the March 18th Atlanta Super NIT where they went 4-1 before being edged out by a late round 2-1 loss to the eventual Super NIT Champion, East Cobb Longhorns. They now hold a record of 57-16 with 6 tournament wins and 6 “Runner-Up” finishes. Also, 14 of their 16 losses have come against 11U teams.  These Cubs are a solid team that continues to get better through a rigorous season schedule.

 

8). East Cobb Longhorns (Marietta, Georgia) was idle. They hold at #8 after taking a tough spill at the April 23rd Georgia-Florida Showdown. The Longhorns won the March 18th Atlanta Super NIT.   During this Super NIT, they tallied wins over 5 ranked teams.   They also won the March 12th Atlanta Blue Jays Invitational where they tallied a 13-2 win over a good OP Sharks team and battled the Georgia Yard Dogs to a 7-7 tie.

 

9) So CAL United of Chino Hills, California moves up from #12 after winning the 5th Annual Bat Wars this past weekend where they tied and beat #4 ranked Oakley Stingrays. They also recently finished strong at 3rd place in the April 16th Oakley Classic. Their overall record now stands at 51-9-2 along with a 17-7-1 record against 11U teams. They are a team that is continuing to improve while playing a very tough area.

 

10-Tie) The San Diego Show was idle, but continues to hold at #10. In their last outing, they went 0-3 at the April 16th Oakley Invitational. In prior outings, they finished with an impressive 3rd place at the Arizona Spring Super NIT.  They hold an overall record of 29-10-1 thus far this season.  They also have 5 tournament wins including USSSA’s California Thanksgiving Super NIT where they earned their Elite 32 berth.

 

10-Tie) The Bullets Blue of Tampa, FL moves up from #13 after winning the East Tennessee Super NIT this past weekend. They recently won the April 16th District 4 Championship. They have now compiled a record of 45-15-1 with 6 of their 10 losses coming against 11U teams.  This win gives them 7 USSSA tournament wins.

 

11). PSA Worth Sox Red (Flowood, MS) continues to move up from #18 last week. They finished “Runner-Up” at the April 30th May Madness NIT playing up in the 11U bracket.   They recently won the Gulf Shores, Alabama Sandlot Super NIT. Their record now stands at 27-7. They have won 3 USSSA tournaments and finished as the “Runner-Up” in 2 others.

 

13). The DBAT Mustangs-Greer of Addison, Texas moves up from #17 after winning the rain shortened Burleson Super Series this past weekend. This comes after finishing 3rd at the April 16th DFW Super NIT. They were the “Runner-Up” in the McKinney, TX Super Series, losing a close 5-4 duel with Canes Baseball in the finals.  Their 2011 season record now stands at 26-5 with 4 tournament wins and two “Runner-Up” finishes. These Mustangs also won the Twin Cities Shootout Super NIT. This weekend, they will play in the Waxahachie Super Series.

 

14-Tie) The Banditos Black (Houston TX) falls from #9. They went 2-2 with a 6th place finish in the Texas Super NIT this past weekend. This brings their record to 42-12 with 8 tournament wins while playing in USSSA, Super Series and Nations Baseball events.  Of this record, they are 13-4 in USSSA play while winning 2 of their 4 USSSA tournament appearances.  They have compiled a 25-7 record in Nations Baseball playing in the 11U Premier division.

 

14-Tie) Lightning Baseball (Lakeland, FL) was idle, but holds at #14. They went 2-2 at the April 23rd Georgia-Florida Showdown losing to the Georgia Yard Dogs Black among others. They finished in 3rd place at the April 3rd Florida Elite NIT where they went 3-1 before losing a close 3-2 game to #3 ranked TEAM Miami.   They also finished 3rd at the March 25th USSSA Tampa Bay Classic. Their USSSA record now stands at 43-18-2 with 3 tournament wins plus 3 Runner-up finishes.  Also, 7 of their 16 losses have come against 11U teams. This is a very good team that has quality wins in a region where that are few easy opponents.  Their record and strength of schedule is worthy of note.

 

15). The Orlando Tigers remained idle again this week, but holds at #15. Most recently, they went 1-2 and finished 3rd at the April 8th Florida Golden Glove Classic NIT losing a close 8-7 game to the Florida Young Guns. They also finished 3rd at the March 20th Atlanta Super NIT and was “Runner-Up” at the March 12th Central Florida Slugfest.  Thus far this season, they hold a 24-9 USSSA record playing against several quality teams.  They have won 2 of 8 USSSA tournament appearances and finished as the Runner-up at 2 others.

 

16). The MO Steele (Miami, FL-S) was idle and holds at #16. Most recently, they went 3-1 and were the “Runner-Up” at this weekend’s PPO Bengal April Fools Challenge losing in the finals to #4 TEAM MVP. Thus far, the boys of Steel have compiled a 25-11-5 record playing in USSSA 10U and 11U events.  They have one of the best players in the nation at this age level, Yordani Carmona. In addition, they have solid talent that can keep them in contention against top teams.

 

17). Montgomery Crush moves up from #24 after wining 4 straight tournaments including the April 30th Auburn May Match UP NIT. They recently won the April 16th 11U “Champs Wear Rings”. This win extended their record to 36-8 along with 9 total USSSA tournament wins in 2011 including taking 3 straight title wins since April 1st. Their record now stands at 40-10 with 10 tournament wins.

 

18). The San Antonio Devils move into the top 20 ranks after finishing as the Co-Champions at the April 30th South Texas Super NIT. They are 8-1 in USSSA competition and 4-2 in Nations play. This is a team that got a late start this season, but it playing really well.

 

19-Tie). TEAM Mizuno also moves into the top 20 ranks after finishing as the Co-Champions at the April 30th South Texas Super NIT.

 

19-Tie). HP Avenger Force Baseball (Houston, TX – aka Avenger Force) moves from #11 after finishing in 10th place at the South Texas Super NIT. They won the April 15th Nations Baseball “Tune-up” Classic going 5-0. They won the Brenham Super Series going 4-0 and outscoring opponents by 61-9 in that event. They finished in 4th place finish at the Super Series “April Fools” tournament where they went 3-1 with a 9-6 loss to the Banditos Black in the semi-finals. By our tally, they have compiled an overall record of 46-12-3 playing USSSA, Super Series and Nations events.  They have racked up 6 tournament wins with 2 Runner-up finishes.

 

20-Tie) The Kentuckiana Outlaws (Paducah, KY/Evansville, IN) was idle, but holds at #20.   They currently hold a 16-0 record with 4 straight tournament wins. This is a team from the North that has traveled south to play against solid competitors – and they have been impressive. While they are classed AAA, they have beaten several excellent Majors class teams.

 

21) TEAM Booya (Salinas, CA-N) holds at #21.  They finished “Runner-Up” in the 11U Cinco de Mayo held in Northern California this past weekend. Their USSSA record holds at 17-11 with 9 of their 11 losses coming against 11U teams. They have won 2 of their 6 USSSA tournament appearances including the President’s Day Super NIT.

 

22) The Mac-N-Seitz Indians (Kansas City) holds at #21 after going 2-0-1 in the rain shortened Oklahoma-Texas Shootout this past weekend. In prior weeks, they went 5-0 to win the April 16th KC Global Sports NIT. Their 2011 overall season record to 22-4-1.

 

23-Tie) The KC Sluggers of Kansas City, Missouri went 3-0 at the rain shortened Oklahoma-Texas Shootout this past weekend. In their last outing, they finished “Runner-Up” at the April 16th KC Sports Global NIT falling to rival Mac-N-Seitz Indians 8-4 in the finals. In their prior outing, they went 3-1 while losing a close 3-2 title game to their cross-town rival, Mac-N-Seitz Indians at the Sports America Super Slam. They had beaten the Indians 3-1 in an earlier meeting. The Sluggers have now compiled a 33-4 record with 2 straight “Runner-Up” finishes that followed their streak of 7 straight tournament wins.

 

23-Tie) The Rawlings Jr. Prospects (St. Louis, MO) rejoins the top 25 ranks after going 5-0 to win the 11U St. Louis Classic this past weekend. This is a team that has just gotten their 2011 Spring season into full swing and has compiled a 20-3 record playing in 10-11U USSSA and local league tournaments. This team have now won 2 tournament and finished “Runner-up” in 2 others.

 

24). The Oklahoma Thunder (Edmond, OK) moves from #19. They went 2-0-1 at the Oklahoma-Texas Shootout this past weekend. They had won 2 of 3 of their USSSA tournament appearances plus finishing Runner-up in the other. They have already compiled record of 19-5-1 with 3 of their losses coming against 11U teams.

 

25) Wolverines Baseball of Chino Hills, CA holds at #25. They won the USTSA Cinco De Mayo 1 day classic going 3-0, beating a solid Murrieta Redhawks team 8-0 in that championship. They finished as the “Runner-Up” in the April 22nd USSSA Easter Classic. They also won the March 25th Triple Crown Spring Championship. They consistently play against some of the best teams in the country and are known for their never quit style of play.

 

 

Honorable Mention
(These are teams that are making a case to also be ranked as a Top 25 team)

AL – The Alabama Traveling Tide has finished 3rd at two straight Super NIT’s. This team is playing one of the most aggressive schedules of any team in the nation as they appear to be seeking out the best teams to play. This could payoff by making them tough down the summer stretch.

 

AR - The Arkansas Mighty Ducks (Ft. Smith, AR) went 3-0 in the rain shortened Oklahoma-Texas Shootout this past weekend. They hold a 18-4-3 record in USSSA play along with 5 or 6 other wins in local events.

 

FL/N – CBC Riverhawks are a late starting team that is emerging as one of the teams to watch in the South. They beat the Georgia Yard Dogs Black to win the Apirl 16th Clash of Chuck and finished 3rd at the Florida-Georgia Showdown this past weekend where they lost 6-4 to the Georgia Yard Dogs. They now hold a record of 12-4.

 

FL/S - The Weston Blackhawks Weston, Florida is a top 20 caliber team that has continued to remain idle from elite travel circuits for more than 4 consecutive weeks and have thus moved out of the top 25 rankings – pending their return to active play. They won the March 11th Florida Super NIT and have compiled a season record of 29-12 in an area where they face excellent teams.

 

GA – The Covington Sting (of Covington, Georgia) are 25-7 in USSSA competitions. This past weekend, they finished “Runner-Up” at the Longball Classic NIT.

 

GA- RingGold Baseball Factory is another team that started late, but is an up and coming team to watch. They have won 3 of the 4 USSSA tournament appearances and finished “Runner-Up” in the other. They have compiled a record of 15-3 and are looking like a top 20 team.

 

LA – Red Raiders (Monroe, Louisiana) are a late starter that has now won 2 straight tournaments. This week, they won the April 30th Crawfish Classic and have compiled a 17-5 record. A big win could move them into the top 25.

 

LA – Louisiana Banditos Black (Church Point, Louisiana) won the April 16th “Terror Classic” held in Thibodeaux, Louisiana beating #24 ranked JackHammers 7-2 in that title game. They have a 15-5 record in USSSA play, but not enough wins to rank in the top 25 at this point.

 

LA - The Jackhammer Black of Central Louisiana was idle this past week. Most recently, they went 4-1 and finished “Runner-Up” falling to the LA Banditos Black by a 7-2 margin in the “Terror Classic” held in Thibodeaux, Louisiana. This team has now compiled a 20-4 record with 2 tournament wins with a strong 3rd place finish at the Twin Cities Super NIT.

 

MO – Missouri Gators (St. Louis) finished 3rd in the April 20th St. Louis Classic competing against 11U AAA teams. They have already won 4 tournaments despite a late start this spring. They have compiled a 17-4 record and playing an aggressive schedule. A win can catapult them into the top 20.

 

SC - The Greenville Pirates (Greenville, SC) finish 2nd at Global Sports Mayfest Mayhem NIT this past weekend. They finished 3rd at the April 16th Charlotte Super NIT. They also hold a Super NIT title and have compiled a 23-5 overall record in both USSSA and Nations play.

 

SC – The SC Cyclones finish 2nd at the East Tennessee Super NIT this past weekend. Their record now stands at 25-10 in USSSA play.

 

TX – The Dallas Tigers went 3-0 at the April 30th rain shortened Oklahoma-Texas shootout this past weekend. They now have an overall record of 30-7 and have won 3 USSSA tournaments. A win a major event could make a strong case for a top 25 ranking.

 

TX – The EL Paso Dodgers are a team that has shown some excellent potential. They hold a 26-5 USSSA record and finished “Runner-Up” at the Triple Crown’s Arizona Spring Championships losing a close title game to #8 ranked IE Elite. Since then, they have not been visible in elite travel play.

TX - The Texas Legends (Pearland, TX-S) was idle. They are clearly a top 25 caliber team, but their future is currently uncertain after recent issues at past tournaments. Their record stands at 34-10-3 playing in both Nations Baseball and USSSA events.  They compete in a state that has an abundance of excellent baseball teams. Given their competitive schedule, their 30+ wins prove that they are a contender in any event they enter. We await to see how they return from their current adversity.
